The heart muscle is supplied with blood by the coronary arteries. This blood flow can be visualized with myocardial scintigraphy (myocardial SPECT/CT) and if restricted blood flow (due to coronary stenosis) is detected, then coronary angiography with stent implantation (coronary stent) may be considered as therapy.
